US ISSUED FRESH NEW DELHI TERROR ALERT

DELHI: SECURITY STEPPED UP AFTER
TERROR ALERT OF IMMINENT ATTACKS
NEW DELHI (BBC News) - The city of Delhi is on high alert following an advisory from the US on Saturday warning its citizens of “increased indications” of terrorists planning “imminent attacks” in Delhi. This is the third such US advisory and was immediately followed by Australia, Britain and Canada. In the latest Warden Message posted on its website titled “Important Security Update”, the US embassy said: “There are increased indications that terrorists are planning imminent attacks in New Delhi”, specifically in crowded markets in the Indian capital. The message singles out specific markets such Chandni Chowk, Connaught Place, Greater Kailash, Karol Bagh, Mehrauli, and Sarojini Nagar, saying they “can be especially attractive targets for terrorist groups”. As New Delhi wants to bolster its international image before hosting October's Commonwealth Games, the US citizens travelling or residing in India were reminded that terrorists have targeted places in the past where US citizens or Westerners are known to congregate or visit.

Yesterday, Lajpat Nagar in south Delhi wore a near deserted look as was the case in with other shopping centres like Karol Bagh, Sarojini Nagar and Greater Kailash. The drop in market footfalls came even as Delhi Police and the home ministry said there was nothing to panic. Americans travelling or residing in India are strongly encouraged to maintain a high level of vigilance, remain aware of their surroundings, monitor local news reports, and take appropriate steps to bolster their personal security, said the advisory. This is the third advisory in a month and advises Americans travelling or residing in India to maintain “a high level of vigilance” and watch out for unattended packages.

The US and three other countries have issued advisories warning its citizens of imminent attacks of terrorists at shopping centres, markets and crowded places in the New Delhi. Why don’t start planning the visit to peaceful little villages where you can find mental rest and be in touch with your soul and Mother Nature?

WHAT DO THE VEDIC TEACHINGS TELL US?
In the “Vrndavana Khand” portion of this book [the “Garga Samhita”] is written: once, seeing the great disturbances in the area of Vraja, Nanda Mahāraja beckoned his confidential friends Sunanda, Upananda, Vrshabanu and other elders for a council and began to address them.” In this area of Mahavana, we are often seeing many calamities. Now all of you should think seriously about what we should do about this”. Sunanda, an experienced elder, hearing this remark, “We should not even delay for a minute here, but should immediately leave with our children for Vrndavana which is most serene and picturesque. O King, your son Krishna is the life and soul of all the residents of Vraja.”
